August 6, 2020 marks the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, a day when this country finally moved towards becoming a true democracy with fair and equal elections. Yet voter suppression tactics continue to threaten the fundamental right to vote for Black and Brown communities.
The 2020 election, one of the most crucial in our nation’s history, is less than 100 days away. It is more vital than ever that we demand equal and full access to the vote. We must also vigorously defend against the voter suppression tactics that often maliciously target Black and Brown communities across this country.
On Thursday, July 2, the Senate Judiciary Committee will be voting on the EARN IT Act, (Eliminating Abusive & Rampant Neglect of Interactive Technologies Act, S. 3398).
