Economic Justice
NOW advocates for a wide range of economic justice issues, all of which limit women’s freedom and success. These include welfare reform, livable wages, paid sick leave, job discrimination, pay equity, financial literacy, and more. We know that these issues impact women of color at much higher rates and that economic justice is intertwined with racial justice, reproductive freedom, and our other core issues.

The Gender Pay Gap – Myth vs. Fact
In the United States, according to an estimate published by the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, the wage gap will not close at this rate until 2058, which is another generation away for women of today.
Women Deserve Equal Pay- Very Little Progress in Closing the Gap
In the United States, full-time, year-round working women continue to be paid less than her male counterpart. Women on average are paid only 78 cents for every dollar a male employee is paid. For older women and women of color, the gap is significantly wider.
