“It’s heartbreaking to listen to the accounts of survivors of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ alleged crimes of sexual violence, rape and abuse. They deserve justice, and Sean Combs must be held fully accountable,” she said, “As new accusations and individuals come forward, we also see how damaged we are as a society by an insidious culture of toxic masculinity that has gone unchallenged too long.”
“NOW salutes the brave women who told their truth to investigators. There must be consequences. NOW supports ongoing civil action against Andrew Cuomo or any criminal referrals that may emerge from this report. Andrew Cuomo has forfeited any right to call himself a leader — he needs to leave, now.”
In a statement, the National Organization for Women denounced Mr. Cosby’s release, saying that “the judicial system in America” had “failed survivors again.”
The National Organization for Women said, “Bill Cosby is free on a technicality, but the women he assaulted, who bravely came forward to bring him to justice, are suffering anew. They thought they had finally achieved some limited measure of closure—and now this.”
