Today, Black women catch up in wages to what white men earned in 2016. It’s a striking annual reminder to pay attention to the economic inequality African-American women face, and how it is–tragically, persistently–driven by both race and gender.

Fox News has done the right thing by showing co-president Bill Shine the door, but that doesn’t mean they have “fixed” their harassment problem.
Bill O’Reilly has been unmasked as a vicious sexual predator–and Fox News has done the right thing by booting him from the network.
Women still earn, on average, just 80 cents for every dollar earned by a white man. From this number, it is obvious that an embarrassing pay inequity exists between women and men in the United States. What’s not obvious is the way this inequity is magnified for women of color.
The culture of sexual harassment at Fox News must stop. The National Organization for Women (NOW) calls for Bill O’Reilly to be fired and demands an immediate independent investigation into the culture of sexual harassment at Fox News.
On March 8, International Women’s Day, women around the country will strike to demand gender equality. The National Organization for Women will proudly take action for human rights alongside them.
Donald Trump must be stopped. Someone with such disrespect for women, with such a misogynistic lifestyle who boasts about using his power to sexually assault women cannot–and will not–be the leader of this country.
