Outlawing Revenge Porn: How Congress Can Protect Privacy and Reduce Online Harassment

Representative Jackie Speier (D-CA) and others participated in a discussion on what is known as “revenge porn,” the distribution of explicit images of a person without consent. Representative Speier (D-CA) opened the event with an overview of her legislation, introduced in July 2016, that would make distributing explicit images without consent a federal crime punishable by up to five years in prison.

Panelists also included National Organization for Women President Terry O’Neill and Antigone Davis, head of Facebook’s Global Strategy.
