Standing alone, this ad sends the message that all women who give birth are heroes; it sends a message that abortion is always a mistake; and it is insulting to the one in three women in this country who have abortions.

Women are responsible for helping get us out of this recession. A recent PEW study suggests that 22 percent of heterosexual married couples have wives earning more then their husbands. Women are now more likely than ever before to be the bread winner and contribute a higher share of income to their families. It should be no surprise then that women now constitute almost 50 percent of all workers.

For an hour, they screamed insults at us, grabbed signs out of our hands, and shoved their signs in our faces. The insults were directed at our gender and age, calling us “sluts” and “whores,” speculating how many abortions we might have had and if we were pregnant at the moment.
