Columnist Lois Henry of the Bakersfied Californian writes about HR 3, the dangerous bill introduced in Congress that would not allow federal dollars to be spent on abortion, but as Henry writes, this bill goes much further: “Federal rules have always made an exception for using tax dollars for abortions when the woman’s life is in danger or in cases of rape or incest.This bill would change that language to “forcible rape.” That is not a simple change in wording. Adding “forcible” means a wide array of what we all know are acts of rape would not qualify for federal assistance in the event the victim was impregnated and needed an abortion.”
