United Nations Human Rights Council Must Hold a Special Session to Address the “Femicide” in Iran

Statement by NOW President Christian F. Nunes

WASHINGTON, D.C.– The United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) must hold a special session to address the ‘femicide’ crisis in Iran.  NOW is calling on UNHRC to investigate the crimes being committed against peaceful protestors and hold the perpetrators accountable. The violent crackdown against peaceful protestors is nothing less than a campaign of terror that intentionally targets women.

The world community must stand together against Iran’s brutality.
