The Time is NOW to Vote for Women’s Lives

Statement by National NOW President Christian F. Nunes

NOW members across the country are mobilizing today to break turnout records and elect candidates who will strengthen and protect women’s rights—not work overtime to take them away.

Our democracy is at a turning point, with candidates running in this election who openly embrace racism, insurrection, anti-Semitism, discrimination, and violence.  Their platform will turn back the clock on women’s rights and give politicians unlimited control over women’s bodies.

Reproductive rights are on the ballot, but so is marriage equality, racial justice, and the future of our democracy.  Our vote is our voice, and we must use it.

It’s imperative that every NOW member get out to vote—and do more if possible.  We’re giving rides to the polls, making last-minute phone calls, doing all we can to bring out every vote for our intersectional feminist agenda.

With a returned majority in the House and a strengthened majority in the Senate, we can pass laws that advance equality, combat injustice and defend women’s rights.

The time is NOW to vote for women’s lives.
