WASHINGTON, D.C.- Christian F. Nunes, National Organization for Women (NOW) National President, issued the following statement in response to last night’s decision by the Texas Supreme Court to overturn a lower court’s ruling that would have allowed a pregnant woman to obtain an abortion as her fetus was diagnosed with a fatal condition:
“Once again, instead of protecting women’s lives, the Texas Supreme Court continues stealing a woman’s ability to make the right decision for herself and her family.
There was once a time when one wanted justice, they would say, ‘See you in court.’ Now, we say, ‘See you at the ballot box.’”
