We applaud the Biden Administration for recognizing true gender equality and justice, including the acknowledgement of all gender identities. Basic civil rights apply to all Americans regardless of their race, sex, religion, or any other characteristic that defines them as unique individuals. The Biden Administration continues to carry through on their promises of making equity a reality in all realms of our country.
No one should feel forced to live their life in fear simply because of who they are. Institutionalized bigotry and discrimination rob students of the full learning experience they’ve earned and of the futures they could have. We should nurture their curiosity and capacity for empathy, not create policies telling them they don’t matter. These proposed changes are a necessary step forward to ensure all students feel safe, supported, and seen. We will continue to fight for full inclusion because all students and survivors deserve to be protected under Title IX.
