Washington, D.C. – Ohio Rep. Max Miller is a serial abuser whose mistreatment of women has been public knowledge for years.
And North Carolina Rep. Chuck Edwards has been found by the House Ethics Committee to have “engaged in persistent unprofessional and inappropriate conduct towards two young female staffers.”
Both men say they intend to run for re-election, but women know that door should now be closed.
Max Miller and Chuck Edwards must resign immediately from Congress and face accountability for their actions.
NOW stands with survivors and is committed to ending the culture that continues to excuse, protect, and promote powerful men despite credible allegations and clear warning signs. From the Tate brothers to the toxic masculinity of the manosphere, this culture must not be allowed to flourish or take deeper root in our politics.
This November, women will turn out in record numbers to elect leaders who will protect women and girls, support survivors of sexual violence, and hold powerful people accountable.
That accountability must begin today with the resignations of Max Miller and Chuck Edwards.
