Former VA Delegate Hala Ayala Appointed National NOW PAC Director

Longtime Leader Brings National Firepower, Fundraising Muscle, and a Seat-Securing Strategy for
2025 and Beyond

October 14, 2025

Washington, DC — The National Organization for Women (NOW) has appointed Hala Ayala as its new National Political Action Committee (PAC) Director to usher in a new era of bold leadership, strategic fundraising, and unapologetic advocacy for equity and representation for women.

“We’re not here to play small. We’re here to build power, raise the resources, and elect leaders who reflect the people, not just the privileged few,” said Ayala. “I’ve knocked on the doors, passed the laws, and raised the dollars. Now, I’m ready to help others do the same.”

Ayala helped pass transformative legislation from Medicaid expansion to gun safety reforms as Chief Deputy Whip in the Virginia House of Delegates.  As Chief Co-Patron of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), she delivered on the long-fought promise to bring constitutional representation for women over the finish line—making Virginia the 38th and final state needed to ratify the amendment.

As a NOW member and activist, Hala Ayala has served as:

  • Vice President of the Virginia National Organization for Women (NOW)
  • President of the National Organization for Women (NOW) Prince William County Chapter
  • State Party Chair for the Virginia Democratic Women’s Caucus
  • Member of the DNC People’s Cabinet on National Security, selected by DNC Chair Ken Martin

“Hala Ayala doesn’t just show up—she builds power, breaks barriers, and brings others with her,” said NOW President Kim Villanueva. “She leads with purpose, heart, and the kind of fire that movements are built on. Hala’s proven track record of grassroots action and her deep knowledge of national political strategy ensure that NOW PAC will be laser-focused on bold fundraising, intersectional coalition-building, and an unapologetic push for transformative change through the 2025 elections and beyond.”
