NOW, National Coalition for the Homeless, and Stetson University Launch New Initiative Focusing on Homeless and Poverty Impacting Women, Children, Family and Youth

April 22, 2022, 2-4 p.m. EDT via Zoom

WASHINGTON, DC — Millions of families are subject to extreme poverty and homelessness in the United States, and contribute to the thousands of deaths that are counted by agencies across the country. Children and youth exposed to extreme hazards such as unsafe living environments or dangerous living spaces are subject to lifelong health risks. The trauma and unnecessary suffering of women, families, children and youth need to end to prevent further suffering, death and health disparities.

In order to address these issues, the National Organization for Women, National Coalition for the Homeless’ Bring America Home Now: A Grassroots Campaign to End Homelessness in the U.S. and Stetson University are hosting the Women, Children, Family and Youth Initiative.
