The individual atrocities and indignities committed against women every day will not stop until the larger war against women is ended and full equality is guaranteed.
In support of National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, taking place Feb. 20-26, 2011, the National Organization for Women Foundation’s Love Your Body campaign is encouraging women to speak up and speak out about body image — on camera. Over the holidays, I finally got a chance to see the animated movie Tangled. I not only laughed at the jokes and enjoyed the fairy tale romp, but I left the theatre with the distinct impression that Disney has taken a few more baby steps on the path to feminism.
