MD0200 Montgomery County NOW

In June 1972, Montgomery County NOW became the first NOW chapter to be chartered in the state of Maryland. MCNOW worked with other Maryland feminist groups to establish chapters, and collaborated on the formation of Maryland NOW, which enabled us to speak, with one voice, to our legislators in Annapolis.

Legislative advocacy remains a priority for our chapter, as do NOW’s core issues of abortion rights/reproductive freedom, ending violence against women, constitutional equality, promoting diversity/ending racism, LGBTQIA+ rights, economic justice, and more. MCNOW holds monthly educational and advocacy programs on these issues.

Because of our close proximity to the Nation’s Capital, we are able to be involved at the national, state, and local levels of NOW.

Please contact us at the link below to find out more about how you can join and get involved with our chapter, when and where our meetings and programs will be held, or if you have an issue of concern with which we can help.
