ACTION ALERT – Urge Your Senators to Vote Against Confirming Dangerous Kash Patel

The Issue:  

Donald Trump’s pick of Kash Patel is one of his most unqualified and even dangerous nominees to run an essential agency, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Patel has said that he would close FBI headquarters on his first day in office and turn it into a museum. He has threatened to jail FBI staff and promised to go after Trump’s personal enemies. He has also claimed that the FBI staged the January 6^th insurrection, despite no evidence.   

Why It Matters:   

Kash Patel lacks the judgment and appropriate temperament to lead an agency as critically important as the FBI. His words indicate that he would weaponize law enforcement, turning the agency into authoritarian-style secret police.   

Status:   

Considerable pressure is being placed on the 53 Republican members of the Senate to confirm all of President Trump’s nominees — no matter a lack of qualifications or unfitness for the position. Only 51 votes are needed for confirmation. Patel’s confirmation hearing was held last week.
