Women’s Healthcare Deserves More than a Rebrand
Statement from NOW’s National President Kim Villanueva on Women’s Health Executive Order
WASHINGTON–We are glad that the Trump administration’s new Executive Order is looking at gaps in women’s health and addressing the huge discrepancy in medical research on women’s bodies. However, this is an administration that plays fast and loose with science, and women deserve more than half-baked, politically motivated healthcare.
If this administration truly cared about women’s health, then they would do everything in their power to fund accessible reproductive healthcare. Instead, they’re doing everything in their power to tear it down, and women are dying.
It’s time for this administration to put their money where their mouth is. Women’s healthcare deserves a lot more than a rebrand. It deserves actual research and policy.
