WASHINGTON—Dolly Parton defined feminism. She forged her own path with confidence, smarts, and was always unapologetically herself. She encouraged women to embrace who they wanted to be and stand up for their values.
Dolly was a true philanthropist – helping the neighbors she loved so much in her native Tennessee, millions of children through her Imagination Library, and the world when she funded research for a COVID vaccine. And when women were finally gaining a foothold in the workplace, she starred in the movie 9 to 5, emphasizing that women in the workplace deserved to be treated equally and with respect.
Dolly Parton was a feminist icon and will be very dearly missed.
