Paycheck Fairness Act Letter to Congress

Wednesday, January 30, 2019, at 9:00 AMDemocratic Members of Congress will join national organizations to reintroduce the Paycheck Fairness Act ten years after the signing of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act by President Barack Obama. Women working full-time, year-round still earn 80 cents, on average, for every dollar earned by men. One key way to start closing the pay gap is for Congress to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act, which strengthens and closes loopholes in the 1963 Equal Pay Act and provides effective remedies to women who are not being paid equal pay for equal work.
