NOW has officially announced the endorsement of Senator Nan Rich for governor of Florida. With states laws such as Stand Your Ground and attacks on birth control and abortion rights, it is now more important than ever to elect someone who will put women first.
During her time in the Florida Legislature, Rich provided steadfast support for issues important to NOW’s members, including childcare and help for families, economic equality for women and access to reproductive healthcare. NOW’s chapters and activists all across the state are mobilizing to help elect her governor of Florida so she can continue work on these issues that are vital to women.
Rich was in the Florida legislature for 12 years, serving four years in the House and eight years in the Senate. During her time in the legislature, Rich was the first woman elected as Democratic Minority Leader. Rich’s community experience includes years of advocacy and activism on behalf of women and children. Florida is in need of a governor who will support the rights of women and our families, and Nan Rich is the best candidate for the job.
