Dr. Laura Schlessinger: How Dangerous is She? Read Dr.Laura in Her Own Words and YOU Decide.
by Kristi Robles, Communications Intern
Starting this September, radio host Dr. Laura Schlessinger is taking her soap-box and her show tothe small screen. With Paramount Domestic Television syndicating her upcoming television show, Dr. Laura has a new-and potentially larger-venue to continue spreading her angry rhetoric. Judge for yourself what influence Dr. Laura will have on a still sexist and hostile television landscape.
"Unless I have hallucinated, I have never made an anti-gay commentary, I have made anti-gay-activist-agenda commentaries.'"
-Quoted by the San Francisco Examiner, February 24, 2000
"The debate over gay rights - Rights. Rights! Rights? For sexual deviant, sexual behavior there are now rights? That's what I'm worried about with the pedophilia and the bestiality and the sadomasochism and cross-dressing. Is this all going to be 'rights' too, to deviant sexual behavior? It's deviant sexual behavior. Why does deviant sexual behavior get rights?" -June 9, 1999 radio program
"They nauseate and sicken me. They've destroyed the family. They've destroyed the sanctity of motherhood." - 1998 Vanity Fair article
"But of course, not only does NOW not give a hoot about the emotional turmoil of abortion, they don't care much for women. Period. They debunk the very notion of femininity, disparage motherhood and see marriage as servitude." -Jewish World Review, December 28, 1999
Some call her a preacher, some call her a phony. We would rather you not call her at all. Instead, contact Paramount and tell them what you think about them providing a platform for Dr.Laura's views.
