Although LGBT youth compose up to 10 percent of young people in the general population, between 20 and 40 percent of all homeless youth are LGBT. LGBT youth homelessness is a growing problem typically based in a lack of acceptance and understanding at home. Leaders who are interested in fighting this issue can find resources to help combat LGBT youth homelessness on a personal, regional, and federal level.
