The Fortnight for Freedom Begins

By Dawn Bangert, Field Intern

Today, the Fortnight for Freedom begins. The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops have called for these two weeks to be a time of prayer, study, catechesis, and public action dedicated to preserving religious liberty, in other words, protesting access to contraception. The USCCB have decided that their religious freedom is in your medicine cabinet, and under attack, and are taking this time to preserve their rights.

NOW interns decided that they would also reflect during this time. Over the next two weeks, the summer interns at NOW will blog their responses, ideas and thoughts about some of the issues the Bishops are raising. These responses will include feminists reflecting on their own faith, birth control, and a host of other topics.

Stay tuned over the next two weeks to hear what the summer interns at NOW have to say about the USCCB latest action.
