American Apparel’s CEO and President, Dov Charney, has been accused of sexual harassment. Again. Charney, who is no stranger to allegations of sexual harassment, has been implicated in the past by at least four of his former female employees, who among other things accused him of using sexually explicit language in the workplace and exposing himself to them.

The recent news story about a man who attacked three separate groups — a Planned Parenthood office, a mosque, and a church he deemed supporting the LGBTQ community — is another example of something true feminists have known all along: You cannot advocate for the rights of one oppressed group without acknowledging the interconnectedness of the struggles of all oppressed people in society.
Just two days before the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, the Post reported on a “shift” in the U.S. Agency for International Development’s approach toward promoting women’s rights. Apparently women in Afghanistan are getting the shaft because gender equality does not make the list of USAID’s main concerns.
Today Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker signed into law the disastrous bill that undermines union workers’ rights. Despite this enormous injustice, it’s heartening to note the many activists who stood up for the people. Wisconsin NOW strongly opposed Walker’s efforts and called attention to the fact that the bill targets unions comprised largely of women.
